Publishers of erotica, romance, and erotic romance

And now Logical-Lust editor Rachel McIntyre has her strangest interview yet -- that with the beguiling She-Devil, Crimson Succubus herself, central character of author Carmine’s searing collection of demonic erotica, Crimson Succubus: The Demon Chronicles.

RM: Erm, hello and welcome. Exactly how do we address your ladyship?

CS: You may address me as Mistress.

RM: Ok, Mistress. Please excuse me but this is a strange interview for me, you must understand. It's clear you aren't human. Where exactly did you come from?

CS: I come from a place where ice is fire. It is a dreadful place, so I have spent most of my existence upon this plane, where I indulge in every sensual experience possible.

RM: Your exploits seem to indicate you've seen centuries pass by, Mistress. Are you immortal?

CS: I do not age but acquire experience.

RM: You seem to take a great deal of pleasure corrupting us mere mortals and using us as your licentious playthings. Why is that, Mistress?

CS: Corruption is the essence of sensuality. You mortals deny yourselves out of a pathetic and misinformed allegiance to one deprived philosophical tome. I merely draw out innermost fantasies from mortals and live them out as a benevolent guide. There is nothing quite as succulent as a man’s life-giving fluid as it escapes the folds of his virgin cock. The combination of pain, surprise, and confusion is ecstatic to me! And the look of a woman when she is pleasured—ooh, the gooseflesh it produces!

RM: Mistress, you seem to be able to move between the earthly domain and Hell. What is Hell like? Can we humans fathom that?

CS: It is a place where ice is fire. It is a playroom for the Dark Lord, whose insatiable cock chimes to every amoral deed upon this plane. The place is of no particular importance to me.

RM: So, if I may be allowed to be frank, Mistress, who's the most depraved heathen, you or Lord Draco? Do you two get along -- like partners in debauchery -- or is it an adversarial, competitive relationship?

CS: Draco is a man, so his lust is of interest to me. Other than that, he is a fool, led about by said member. To be partners is to be adversarial.

RM: Your short stories in 'Crimson Succubus: The Demon Chronicles' are so enthralling, have you thought about having Carmine write a full-length novel about you, Mistress, maybe your life story?

CS: My life story? Oh, no! I want those touched by the little tales to savor each one at a time, perhaps during periods of intense sensuality, so that every word has its intended effect. Many Zen parables are short, each designed to trigger in the reader an opportunity for enlightenment. It is my sincere desire that each little tale that Carmine brings to the masses triggers something else entirely.

RM: Mistress, thank you so much for your time and allowing me this pleasure.

CS: I allow nothing, dearest. As for pleasure, we have not yet even begun. Come closer and thank me properly. . . .

RM: Oh! I... Err... Yes, Mistress.

RM: Mistress, why, of all humans you could have perverted, did you choose Carmine to tell of your wicked exploits?

CS: Oh, lovely Carmine. He is an innocent, a vessel who was one of my first conquests. His eyes beheld me and he did not run. The little fool.

RM: Of all your minions, Mistress, which is your favourite, and why?

CS: Favourite! I cast no favors upon the mortals of this plane. They are here to serve me!

RM: But you can take human form can't you, Mistress? Do you enjoy milling among us humans?

CS: Oh, yes. But I never mill about, as you say. I am a conflagration of sensuality, and those who come within this inferno are touched by its exquisite flames.

RM: What -- or should I say who -- was your most memorable conquest, Mistress, sexual or otherwise?

CS: There have been many, including the Dark Lord Himself. Hmmm, perhaps it was the first cenobite, who held strong to his faith even as I mounted his quivering member. He shouted prayer after prayer, all the time twisting his rosary beads to the rhythm of my insistent hips and thighs. At length, the poor soul succumbed, screaming “amen” as he filled me with the very seed of life.

Crimson Succubus standing in the first circle of hell.

Carmine has been writing erotica for several years. He has published two ongoing series, “Tales of the Crimson Succubus” and “Mr. Leatherman,” and most of his erotica taps into the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. His first book, the erotic/horror anthology Midnight Delights, has been published by Renaissance E Books under the Sizzler Imprint. His short works can be found in Smut, our own XtreXmeX, Ruthie’s Club, Cthulhu Sex, Scared Naked, Blue Food, Bedroom Chronicles, Mind Caviar, Ophelia’s Muse, Sauce*Box, Voracity Beat, A Dark Whisper, BDSM Café, Lair of the Shebitch, Blood Moon Zine, Shadow of the Marquis, and Abby’s Realm.

He has also released “Crimson Succubus: The Demon Chronicles” in ebook formats and which is due to be released in very early 2008 in print. Later in this feature, we have an extraordinary actual interview with Crimson Succubus, but first we asked Carmine about her and her stories;

“Crimson Succubus came about when I discovered a little online publication known as Amoret. I had always wanted to try my hand at writing erotica, so I began to read the short stories in the magazine. Amoret was interesting because it published a unique type of fiction labeled “flash.” As I would subsequently discover, flash fiction (also known as short-shorts, micro-fiction, or fast fiction) had become a popular form of literary fiction. A flash-fiction story is one that is less than 100 words. The story must have a beginning, a middle, and an end. These stories are challenging to write, but they also are very rewarding.

My interest in dark fantasy and horror led to the creation of Crimson Succubus, who is one of the lesser-known angels to fall with Lucifer at the climax of the battle between heaven and hell. Her essence was to imbue wanton desire without measure. It was she who first beguiled monks within darkened abbeys, so that these poor self-professed celibates attached crucifixes to their members in a feeble attempt to ward off her nocturnal defilement. There is a strong sense of bondage and S&M in many of the tales, and most of them have elements of darkness and the supernatural.

So, I sent off my first short piece to
Amoret and it was promptly rejected. Not dissuaded in the least, I sent another, and a few weeks later I received an acceptance. I worked with the ladies at Amoret for two years (at which time the magazine folded), and slowly Crimson Succubus began to appear in other venues.

Editors and readers often ask me how I manage to write from a female’s perspective. What I have done is patterned Crimson Succubus after my beloved wife, who in many ways is not like the she-devil with respect to motivation and inclination. However, the succubus’ inner strength, passion, and compassion—and all the elements that make up her femininity—are taken from my wife.

Although there are longer short stories featuring the Crimson Succubus, most remain in the realm of flash fiction. My next step is to take these tales and assemble a pillow book that chronicles all my work related to this she-devil. The difficult part will be to find a publisher, but I have taken this step before, and it has proved successful.
