Not all sex is romance or fun. Sometimes there's desperation there. Explore the deeper, darker aspects of love and want in "Bittersweet", Amber Hipple's intensely emotive debut collection of tainted erotica. Be moved by the cycle of wanting to be wanted and the pain of wanting too much. "Bittersweet" is a lesson in reality; it's what love and desire can be. Expect no "happy ever after" in these stories, but expect to be left wanting more.
“Amber Hipple has come up with something quite out of the ordinary in ‘Bittersweet’. Gone is the sugary-sweet romanticism and the happy-ever-after, to be replaced by the profound emotions and outpourings that are real in love and sex. You’ll find your heart being wrenched apart by the yearnings and the despair of the characters, yet still be stirred and aroused by the sheer passion in the erotica she produces.” - Logical-Lust
Review from The Reader Eclectic:
“... So often erotica turns out to be formulaic or even dull in its execution, but
Amber Hipple has approached it in a way that, for me, is different and quite enjoyable.
Her writing is sensuous, and the first-person narrators somehow manage to tell you
what’s happening in the present while still holding you in suspension, either within
their minds or in some moment of the past. Her descriptions are lengthy and all the
better for it, offering details to all five senses that should satisfy even the most
elusive of imaginations ... Overall, this is a lovely collection with stories that
are capable of drawing you in to be lost in the details and atmosphere of the narration...”

Review from EbookCritique.com:
“... The words are more than just a narrative tool, Hipple writes with a definitive
prose that seems to be spoken in hushed whisper by some unseen narrator. The stories
explore both the joys and sorrows of love and lust, the temptation of forbidden fruit,
and the beauty and intimacy of pain ... More interesting is Hipple’s ability to convey
passionate scenes of love with minimal description of the acts being performed. On
many occasions the actual act of sex is alluded to rather than spelled out. The
love scenes are often written between the lines as opposed to graphically spelled
out and this is what really sets each tale apart from average erotica...” Read the

Review from GenreReviews:
“It's the emotional content that set these stories apart from other collections,
though, making them high-impact bites of eroticism and longing. Each story is short,
only a few pages long, but the intensity goes beyond what a lot of novels serve up.
It's not easy to keep a sense of urgency after so many pages, but the first person
narrative never fails to stay startling and fresh ... Readers interested in something
a little off the beaten path, who are tired of fluffy love and endings where everyone
wanders off into the sunset should consider this collection a must.” Read the full
